Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights
PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS:NOTE:
^ If vehicle is left for 24 or more days without the Ignition Switch being put in "RUN," the Illuminated Entry and Parasitic Power features will be disabled to decrease parasitic battery drain. Putting the Ignition Switch in "RUN" will restore these features.
^ Interrupting battery voltage to the Multi-Function Alarm Module by disconnecting the vehicle's battery or disconnecting the module will cause the interior lights-on delay to be only 2 to 4 minutes and cause parasitic power shut down in 3 days, until the vehicle has travelled more than 15 miles with battery power restored to the module.
^ The Multi-Function Alarm Module controls Interior Lights and generates chime alarms, Refer to (Audible Warning Device). Verify all chime alarms operate before proceeding with following diagnostic text. If any chime alarms do not operate, Refer to (Audible Warning Device). Audible Warning Device
1. If only one light does not operate, check bulb and related wiring.
2. Check that the Multi-Function Alarm Module is properly seated.
3. If Interior Lights are intermittently inoperative, check that there are no Interior Lights left on, especially the Luggage Compartment and I/P Compartment Lights.
^ Refer for Multi-function Alarm Module access. Audible Warning Device
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check (refer to "General Troubleshooting Procedures,"). Diagnostic Aids
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to "General Troubleshooting Procedures,").
