Ignition Lock Cylinder - On Vehicle

WARNING:
On models equipped with Airbags, Refer to Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems) Service and Repair Disarming procedures before performing any repair. Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect wiring harness from ignition switch assembly.
3. Disconnect steering wheel. Refer to Steering and Suspension / Steering / Steering Wheel. Service and Repair
4. Drill a 9/32 hole on back of steering column housing assembly.
5. Insert suitable tool, Fig. 2, into hole to retain lock retainer spring, then turn tool to break retainer spring.
6. Hold column vertical and tap on housing assembly to dislodge retainer.
7. Remove lock retainer and lock cylinder from housing.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
