Troubleshooting Hints
PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS:1. If Daytime Running Lights On Indicator does not operate properly, refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators. Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators
2. Check FLSH-PAS and DRL Fuses.
3. If BRAKE Indicator is lit with Ignition Switch in RUN and Park Brake released, refer to Brake Warning. Parking Brake Warning Switch
4. If Headlights do not turn off with Ignition Switch in OFF, replace Headlight Switch Assembly.
5. Without Fog Lights: If HI Beam Headlights remain dimly lit with Ignition in OFF, replace Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Relay.
6. If Park Lights do not operate, refer to Exterior Lights. Lighting and Horns
7. Check that grounds G102 and G104 are tight and clean.
8. If one Headlight or Fog Light does not operate properly, check lamp, connections and wires to light.
9. If Headlights on one side are dim, check ground on that side.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check (refer to "General Troubleshooting Procedures"). Diagnostic Aids
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to "General Troubleshooting Procedures,").
