Troubleshooting Hints - Charging System

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS:
1. Check the battery hydrometer eye that is built into the vehicle's battery before troubleshooting the charging system.
- Green eye - Battery is charged.
- Dark eye - Battery is discharged. Recharge Battery.
- Clear or yellow eye - Battery fluid is low. Replace Battery.
2. Check IGN Fuse and GEN Fuse
3. Check the generator belt.
4. Check the Starter Solenoid term "B" and Battery connections are clean and tight.
- Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check.
- Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may effect the integrity of other systems.
