This bulletin updates Section 6E3 of the 1995 "J" Series Service Manual. Corrections are required to the PCM Terminal End View and Section C1-Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Sensors pages. The pages are as follows:
6E3-A-7 Figure A-6 - PCM Terminal End View 2.2L (VIN 4) "J" Carline (1 of 2) (2.2L VIN 4).
6E3-A-8 Figure A-7 - PCM Terminal End View 2.2L (VIN 4) "J" Carline (2 of 2) (2.2L VIN 4).
6E3-C1-1 Section C1-Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Sensors (2.2L VIN 4 and 2.3L VIN D).
The corrections are as follows:
Pages 6E3-A-7 and 8 for the 2.2L (VIN 4) are missing information regarding the breakout box required for certain diagnostics. The following statement should be added to the lower portion of the art. (Figures A-6 and A-7 of the 2.3L (VIN D) section can be used for reference.)
Use Kent Moore Universal Breakout Box (BOB) J 39700 with J 39700-110 adapter cables and J 39700-112 overlay to measure voltages.
Pages 6E3-C1-1 for the 2.2L (VIN 4) and 2.3L (VIN D) incorrectly states the location of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The correct location of the PCM is beneath the right front fender. The On-Vehicle Service procedures of the same section correctly show the PCM's location.
Please make a note of these corrections in your Service Manual.
