Troubleshooting Hints

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS:
1. Check PWR WDO circuit breaker (Buick C) or PWR SUNROOF circuit breaker (Oldsmobile, Pontiac) by operating power windows.
2. If sunroof does not operate for ten minutes after ignition switch is turned to OFF (if equipped with Retained Accessory Power). Refer to Accessories and Optional Power Testing and Inspection
3. Partially lower headliner, release clutch and manually crank sunroof using a 4 mm hex wrench.
^ If there is mechanical binding, refer for repair procedures.
^ If sunroof operates smoothly from hand crank, proceed to the Symptom Table.
4. Check that all sunroof connectors are seated properly.
5. Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check. (Refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
6. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may effect the integrity of other systems. (Refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures).
