Window Regulator Motor - Front
PontiacCAUTION: If door module assembly is removed from vehicle, relieve tension on actuator spring using tool J 38864 or equivalent. Failure to relieve tension on actuator spring could cause the cross arm assembly to suddenly spring closed when removing power window actuator, resulting in personal injury.
Actuator - Power Window (Motor)
Remove or Disconnect
1. Ensure window is 1 inch below full up position.
2. Switch plate.
3. Courtesy 1amp.
4. Lock rod knob by unsnapping at forward end.
5. Inside handle cup at notch from handle bezel.
6. Attaching screw and inside handle bezel from rear edge.
7. Armrest applique at clip by unsnapping with small flat-bladed tool.
8. Electrical connectors.
9. Loosen setscrew detaching mirror control to applique (electric mirror control may be removed with applique without loosening setscrew).
10. Screws mounted through holes in panel front.
11. Screws through courtesy lamp opening.
12. Screw at top of aN.mrest handle.
13. Using J 38778 release retainers and remove trim panel.
14. Speaker connectors.
15. Decklid release connector (if applicable).
NOTE To separate belt strip from belt retainer, insert tool J 38778 between belt strip and belt retainer at rearward edge and gently pry apart.
16. Speaker(s).
17. Water deflector by peeling deflector off door inner panel.
18. Nuts
19 Actuator.
Install or Connect
1 Actuator.
2. Nuts
3. Decklid release connector.
4. Speaker and connector.
5. Trim panel.
6. Screw at top of amirest panel.
7. Screws through courtesy lamp opening.
8. Screws mounted through holes in panel front.
9. Tighten mirror control setscrew.
10. Armrest applique.
11. Inside handle bezel.
12. Inside handle cup.
13. Lock rod knob.
14. Courtesy lamp.
15. Switch plate.
16. Water deflector to door inner panel, making sure to slick out wrinkles.
17. Slick bottom frrst, then the sides, then top, so there are no wrinkles.
18. Speakers(s).
19. Door trim panel.
20. Negative battery cable.
