Interior Lamps Dimming
The I/P Dimmer Switch controls the brightness of the incandescent illumination lamps and the Vacuum fluorescent (VF) displays of the Radio.INCANDESCENT DIMMING
The brightness of the incandescent illumination lamps is determined by the voltage on CKT 8. As the I/P Dimmer switch is turned the voltage on CKT 8 changes, varying lamp intensity.
VACUUM FLUORESCENT (VF) DIMMING
The brightness of the Radio Vacuum Fluorescent displays is controlled by two signals: the Illumination (Night Condition) input (CKT 9) and the Illumination (Dimming) input (CKT 8). With the Park Lamps "OFF" no voltage is applied to CKT 8 and VF displays are at high brightness for daylight viewing. With the Park Lamps "ON" (or in a low light condition with DRL) voltage is applied to CKT 8 and the Radio Night Condition input. This dims the VF display for low light viewing. With the Park Lamps "ON" (or in a low light condition with DRL) voltage is applied through the I/P Dimmer Switch, CKT 44, and the I/P DIMMER fuse 16 to CKT 8. As the I/P Dimmer Switch is turned the voltage on CKT 8 changes, varying VF display intensity.
