NOTE: Before replacing the ISC motor the throttle lever screw and the throttle stop screw must be checked for evidence of tampering. Perform the following two inspections.

^ Open the throttle lever to the full open position and check that the yellow paint has not come off of the throttle lever screw.
^ Turn the resin cap of the throttle stop screw on the throttle body side with fingers and check that the entire cap is free from damage.

If any yellow paint has come off or if the resin cap is damaged, the ISC motor cannot be replaced. Instead the throttle body assembly must be replaced as a unit.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Let engine cool to ambient temperature.
2. Negative (-) battery cable.
3. Remove air cleaner (ACL) assembly from Throttle Body Fuel Injection (TBI) unit (one nut, one bolt, PCV hose, Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor connector.
4. Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor electrical connector.
5. Three screws and ISC motor from the TBI unit.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

CAUTION: Do not supply electricity to the ISC motor terminals before it is installed onto the throttle body or damage to the motor may occur.

1. ISC motor to TBI unit, secure with three screws. Tighten ISC motor screws to 2.8 to 4.0 Nm (24 to 36 in lb).
2. ISC motor electrical connector.
3. PCV hose, IAT sensor electrical connector and air cleaner to TBI unit; secure with one bolt and one nut. Tighten ACL bracket bolt to 10 Nm (7.5 ft lb).
4. Negative (-) battery cable. Tighten negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal.
5. Start and warm the engine to operating temperature and check that the idle speed is within the specified idle range.
