Steering Column Lock

Fig. 79 Steering Column Lock Bolts Removal:

Remove steering wheel as outlined in Steering Column.
1. Remove ignition switch attaching screw, then switch.
2. Remove ignition key warning switch attaching screws, then switch.
3. Loosen and remove two steering column lock retaining bolts using a center punch, Fig. 79. When using center punch do not damage aluminum parts of lock assembly.
4. Turn ignition key to On or ACC position, then remove lock assembly from steering column.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
