Shift Interlock: Description and Operation
Voltage is applied through the BACK Fuse to the Transaxle Range Switch with the Ignition Switch in the "ON" and "START" positions. With the manual selector lever in "P" (park) and the brake pedal depressed, voltage is applied through the closed contacts of the Transaxle Range Switch and the Stoplamp Switch to the Shift Lock Solenoid. The Shiftlock Solenoid is permanently grounded at G400. With voltage applied, the Shift Lock Solenoid energizes and releases the manual selector lever locking mechanism.
