DISASSEMBLE
1. Support intermediate driveshaft bearing arbor in a suitable vise.
2. Remove outer bearing seal using puller tool No. J-26942 with slide hammer tool No. J-23907, or equivalents, Fig. 22 .
3. Remove driveshaft to bearing snap ring, Fig. 23 .
4. Using gear puller J-28888-D, or equivalent, press driveshaft from bearing.
5. Turn bearing arbor over and secure in vise.
6. Remove inner bearing seal using puller tool No. J-26942 with slide hammer tool No. J-23907, or equivalents.
7. Remove bearing to arbor retaining snap ring.
8. Remove bearing from arbor.
ASSEMBLE
1. Secure arbor into a suitable vise.
2. Place bearing into arbor, then install snap ring, Fig. 23 .
3. Install inner seal using driver J-37751, or equivalent.
NOTE: Ensure seal is installed with garter spring facing out.
4. Lubricate seal lips with a suitable grease.
5. Using a suitable press, install intermediate driveshaft into bearing.
6. Install driveshaft snap ring.
7. Install outer seal using driver J-37751, or equivalent.
NOTE: Ensure seal is installed with garter spring facing out.
8. Lubricate seal lips with a suitable grease.
