H. 5TH and Reverse Gearshift and Guide Shafts

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. One roll pin and reverse gearshift arm from 5th reverse gearshift and guide shafts using a standard drift punch and hammer.
2. Reverse gearshift arm spring and two steel balls from reverse gearshift arm.
3. One roll pin and 5th and reverse gearshift yoke from 5th and reverse gearshift shaft using a standard drift punch and hammer.

Clean
- All components thoroughly with clean solvent and dry.

Inspect
- 5th and reverse gearshift and guide shafts for flat spots, excessive wear or damage. Replace as necessary.
- Contact surfaces of the reverse gearshift arm and the 5th and reverse gearshift yoke for excessive wear, cracks or other damage. Replace as necessary.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

^ Tool Required:
- J 36850 Transjel Transmission Assembly Lubricant

1. Apply a thin coat of J 36850 to all parts prior to assembly.
2. 5th and reverse gearshift yoke onto the 5th and reverse gearshift shaft; secure with one roll pin.





3. Reverse gearshift arm spring and two steel balls into reverse gearshift arm.





4. Reverse gearshift arm onto the 5th and reverse gearshift and guide shafts; secure with one 5th and reverse gearshift arm roll pin.
