Troubleshooting Hints - Gauges and Warning Indicators

(Perform before beginning System Diagnosis)

^ Make the following checks before beginning system diagnosis.

1. Check the "CLUSTER," "HVAC," and "CLS/PCM" fuses by visual inspection.

2. Check that all connectors in system are mated correctly.

3. Check for open in Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) Data Line (CKT 800), see DATA LINK CONNECTOR. Data Link Connector

^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check (see "troubleshooting Procedures." in DIAGRAMS).

^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of their systems (see "Troubleshooting Procedures," in DIAGRAMS).
