Minimal Range Operation of Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System
(Relocate Module to Top of Rear Shelf)

Condition
Some owners may comment on minimal range operation of the remote keyless entry (RKE) system under certain conditions, (standing at a particular angle or distance from the vehicle).
Correction
The range of the RKE system may be increased by relocating the receiver module to the top of the rear shelf.
RKE Receiver Module Relocation Procedure
1. Remove RKE module from current position.
2. Cut tabs from module flush with box.
3. Remove rear pillar upper trim panels.
4. Remove rear pillar lower trim panels.
5. Remove package shelf.
6. Connect jumper harness, P/N 15301753, to body harness and tape to harness.
7. Secure module to top shelf with butyl pad, P/N 10289576, in location indicated in Figure 1.
8. Route jumper harness through rear shelf as shown in Figure 1 and connect to module.
9. Verify operation of RKE.
10. Install package shelf.
11. Install rear lower trim panels.
12. Install rear upper trim panels.
