Antitheft Relay: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect
^ Disable SIR System. Refer to Disabling the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System.

CAUTION: When servicing an I/P assembly containing a live Inflator module, or when leaving an I/P assembly containing a live inflator module unattended on a bench or other surface, always face the air bag deployment opening up, away from the surface. This is necessary so that a free space Is provided to allow the air bag to expand in the unlikely event of accidental deployment. Failure to follow procedures could result in personal injury.

Remove or Disconnect
1. I/P assembly.
2. Fastener and starter enable relay from stud.
3. Starter enable relay connector.
4. Starter enable relay.

Install or Connect
1. Starter enable relay connector.
^ Position relay over stud.
2. Fastener to stud.

Tighten
^ Fastener to 4.5 Nm (40 lb. in.).

3. I/P assembly.
^ Enable SIR system.
