Remote Function Actuator
Remote Function Actuator (RFA) Module:
Important: When the RFA module is being replaced it is very important to follow the installation procedure carefully. Failure to do so will cause inoperative options or malfunctions in the RFA system. RPO options must be set properly or functions for the RFA system may become inoperative.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Right sound insulator.
2. Lower electrical connector.
^ Press down on center tab of multi-use bracket and slide module downward until mounting rails disengage.
3. Upper electrical connector.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Upper electrical connector(s).
^ Align mounting rails on module with mounting rails on multi-use bracket.
^ Slide module upward into place until mounting rails align and locking tab engages.
2. Lower electrical connector.
3. Right sound insulator.
4. Connect TECH 1.
5. Turn ignition "ON."
6. Select vehicle being programmed.
7. Select "Body."
8. Select "RFA."
9. Select "RFA Test."
10. Select "Set Options."
11. Select "Option 0."
Important
^ Follow screen prompts and instructions.
^ Use the "EXIT" key to change from one function screen to another. Do not use the "YES" or "NO" keys. II "YES" or "NO" is pressed other features may become disabled.
12. Scroll through screens until desired function is displayed, select
^ Use RFA function chart and select the functions that are standard or optional for the particular vehicle being serviced. Failure to program the RFA module properly will cause the system to malfunction causing misdiagnosis and customer complaints.
^ When selecting functions on a new RFA module on a vehicle that has Theft Deterrent (UA6), you must go into Option 3 on TECH 1.
13. Exit system.
14. Disconnect TECH 1.
15. Program transmitters. Refer to "Programming Procedure".Transmitter Programming
