Troubleshooting Hints
1. Check I/P Fuse Block Fuses 9C, 4A and 8D.2. Check that Antenna Connector and Antenna Coaxial Cable are properly connected.
3. Before troubleshooting a suspect speaker, check all connections to that speaker for proper terminal contact.
4. For proper noise diagnosis, take vehicle outside where signals are strong. Close hood, and keep away from metal buildings or other sources of radio interference.
5. Ignition noise on FM may indicate a defective Ignition System.
6. Coated screws or bolts can cause a poor ground condition. Scrape ground screw clean of any paint or varnish.
7. If Radio does not operate for 10 minutes after Ignition Switch is turned to OFF (if equipped with Retained Accessory Power), refer to Retained Accessory Module for diagnosis.
8. If Radio operates properly except from Steering Wheel Controls (if equipped), refer to Retained Accessory Power for diagnosis. Accessory Delay Module
9. Check rear defogger grid lines for breaks or dark spots, and rear window glass for obvious breaks.
10. Check window perimeter for contact between black window adhesive and grid lines or connecting wires. A minimum 3mm gap is acceptable.
11. Check coaxial cable connections at Rear Defogger Antenna Module and Radio to make sure they are clean and tight.
12. Check connections at Rear Defogger Antenna Module and Ground Coil to make sure they are clean and tight, and check attachment to sheet metal.
13. Check for vehicle power on CKT 145 with Radio ON, and CKT 293 with Rear Defogger ON.
