Inner Panel Water Deflector
Front Side Door Water Deflector:
Note: When access to the door inner panel is required to perform service operations, the deflector may be completely or partially detached from the door inner panel. If the existing deflector is damaged so that it will not properly seal the door, replace the deflector.
Remove or Disconnect
1. Front side door trim. Refer to Door Panel / Service and Repair. Doors
2. Water deflector.
A. Pull away from door to break the sealer bond.
B. Pull bottom edge of water deflector from retaining slots.
C. Do not allow dirt or lubricants to contact sealer.
Inspect: Water deflector for tears or holes. Repair using waterproof body tape on both sides of water deflector.
Install or Connect
1. Water deflector.
A. Align water deflector to door inner panel. Starting at upper outer corners.
B. Smooth down top of deflector.
C. Pull power window, courtesy lamp and any remaining wires or connectors through their respective holes or slits in the deflector.
D. Smooth down outer edges of deflector to door inner panel working downward to the bottom edge.
E. Apply tape to cover applique adjustment slot.
