Cylinder Head - Disassemble

^ Tools Required, or equivalent:
J 36660 Torque Angle Meter
J 8062 Valve Spring Compressor
J 36017 Valve Guide Seal Remover




1. Remove the coolant outlet.
2. Remove valve train components.

NOTE: Ensure that the valve train components are kept together and identified in order for proper reinstallation in their original position.





3. Compress the valve spring. Use the valve spring compressor.





4. Remove the valve keys.
5. Slowly release the valve spring compressor from the valve spring assembly.
6. Remove the retainer.
7. Remove the spring.
8. Remove the spring seat (exhaust only) or valve rotator (intake only).

CAUTION: Do not damage the valve guide. Remove any burrs that have formed at the key groove by chamfering the valve stem with an oil stone or a file.





9. Remove the valve seal. Use the valve guide seal remover.
10. Remove the rotator with intake only.
11. Remove the valve.
