Intermediate Shaft Bearing

^ Tools Required:
- J 22912-01 Split Plate
- J 23694 CV Joint Seal Installer
- J 34115 Seal Installer

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Retaining ring and lip seal.
2. Press shaft from bearing using J 22912-01 behind inner slinger.
3. Retainer from support screws.
4. Press bearing from support using J 23694.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Press bearing into support using a press arbor plate across the bearing.
2. Press inner slinger on shaft using J 22912-01.
3. Retainer over shaft.
4. Place support with bearing on press arbor plate and press shaft into bearing until the bearing inner race contacts the chamfer on the shaft.

NOTICE: Do not press the bearing beyond where the chamfer begins on the shaft. Damage to the bearing will result if it is pressed beyond the chamfer.

5. Press outer slinger on the shaft using J 22912-01.
6. Apply RTV to outer slinger and shaft joint.
7. Lip seal using J 34115.
8. Retaining ring.
9. Retainer to support and install screws.

Tighten
- Intermediate shaft retainer to support screws to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

10. Intermediate shaft assembly into vehicle.
