Motor Speed - Delco Audio System

TIMED SECTION IN TAPE
There is a two minute time period marked in this section of tape for the purpose of checking the cassette tape motor speed. The tape will tell you when to mark the time on a watch to start the timing event. There is about one minute and 50 seconds of music with instructions at the end telling when to mark the time for the end. If the time taken for this test is between 1 minute and 50 seconds to 2 minutes and 1 second, the tape motor speed is within specs.

This portion of the diagnostic tape can be used to verify or resolve problems when a customer complains that the audio from the cassette sounds abnormal. In some cases, improper tape motor speed can cause audio abnormalities.
