Engine Coolant Heater
Cord Routing And Engine Coolant Heater:
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Drain coolant.
2. Cord from engine coolant heater.
3. Oil fill tube bolt.
4. Rotate oil fill tube enough to allow removal of engine coolant heater.
5. Engine coolant heater.
IF NOT ORIGINALLY EQUIPPED WITH AN ENGINE COOLANT HEATER:
1. Remove oil fill tube bolt.
2. Rotate oil fill tube enough to allow engine coolant heater installation.
3. Carefully tap the coolant jacket plug near its outer edge, causing it to rotate out of the hole.
IMPORTANT
^ Do not score the machined surface of the hole.
4. Grasp coolant jacket plug with pliers and pull to remove.
5. Remove burrs or rough surfaces.
CLEAN
^ Coolant jacket opening.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Coat the engine coolant heater "O" ring and the surface of the coolant jacket opening.
2. Engine coolant heater and push tight to engine block.
3. Rotate oil fill tube to align oil fill tube bracket hole with engine coolant heater hole.
4. Oil fill tube bolt.
TIGHTEN
^ Bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.).
5. Heater cord to the the engine coolant heater.
IMPORTANT
^ Cord must not contact hot surfaces or any moving parts.
6. Fill coolant system.
