Cylinder Head Disassemble and Assemble

^ Tools Required - J 8062 Valve Spring Compressor, or equivalent.

1. Remove the spark plugs from the cylinder head.
2. Use valve spring compressor in order to compress the valve springs.
3. Remove the valve stem keys.





4. Remove the cap from the valve.
5. Remove the valve spring.
6. Remove the valve stem oil seal.
7. Remove the valve. Place the valves in a rack in the proper sequence so that the you can install them in the same order.
8. Remove the valve spring seat.
9. Install the valve spring seat. Lubricate the valve spring seat with engine oil in order to make assembly easier.





10. Install the new valve stem oil seal.





11. Set the valve spring in place.





12. Set the valve spring retainer in place
13. Use J 8062 in order to compress the valve springs.





14. Install the valve keepers.
15. Remove the valve spring compressor, being careful to make sure the keepers are seated in groove on the valve stem.
16. Install the rocker arms.
17. Install the rocker arm cover.
