Air Bag & Refrigerant

CAUTION: This vehicle is equipped with Supplemental inflatable Restraint (SIR). Refer to CAUTIONS under "AIR BAGS" and the SIR Component and Wiring Location view before performing service on or around SIR components or wiring. Failure to follow CAUTIONS could result in possible air bag deployment, personal injury, or otherwise unneeded SIR system repairs.

CAUTION: For personal protection, goggles and gloves should be worn and a clean cloth wrapped around fittings, valves and connections when doing work that involves opening the refrigerant system. If R134a comes in contact with any part of the body, severe frostbite and personal injury can result. The exposed area should be flushed immediately with cold water and prompt medical help should be obtained.

CAUTION: Avoid breathing A/C refrigerant and lubricant vapor or mist. Exposure may irritate eyes, nose, and throat. To remove R-134a from the A/C system, use service equipment certified to meet the requirements to SAE J2210 (R-134a recycling equipment). If accidental system discharge occurs, ventilate work area before resuming service. Additional health and safety information may be obtained from refrigerant and lubricant manufacturers.
