System Familiarity

Before attempting any service which requires opening refrigerant lines or components, be sure you are thoroughly familiar with the information under "Handling Refrigerant", "Handling Refrigerant Lines and Fittings" and "Maintaining Refrigerant Chemical Stability". Also, be sure to very carefully follow the instructions under "Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling Discharging Adding Oil, Evacuating and Charging the Refrigerant System" for the unit being serviced.

Remove sealing caps from subassemblies just before making the connections for final assembly. Always use new O-rings that are specifically designed for refrigerant operations when assembling joints. When tightening joints, use a second wrench to hold one of the fittings and keep it from moving.

Tighten all connections as shown in "Specifications". Too little torque will result in loose joints; too much torque will cause deformed joint parts. Either condition will cause a refrigerant leak.
