Flushing Brake Hydraulic System

The system must be flushed if there is any doubt as to the grade of fluid in the system or if fluid has been used which contains the slightest trace of petroleum or mineral based fluids. All rubber parts, including the brake hoses, that have been exposed to contaminated fluid must be replaced. Approximately one quart of fluid is required to flush the hydraulic system. When flushing the system use the steps specified in pressure bleeding procedures shown in "Bleeding Brake Hydraulic System."
