Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
2. Disconnect the battery cables and remove the battery.
3. Remove the relay center push in retainer.
4. Position the relay center away from the air cleaner assembly.
5. Remove the push in retainer from air cleaner assembly to the battery tray.
6. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

Installation Procedure

Important: Ensure that the slide pin is properly located into the bracket hole.

1. Slide the pin (part of air cleaner assembly) into the bracket hole on the left strut tower.

Important: Verify full engagement of the inlet onto the resonator neck and no contact of the air cleaner to the strut tower.

2. Position and install the air cleaner inlet over the resonator neck.
3. Install the push in retainer from the air cleaner to the battery tray.
4. Install the relay center and the push in retainer.
5. Install the battery and connect the battery cables.
6. Connect the air cleaner outlet duct. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps to 5 Nm (44 lb. in.).
