Wheel Installation
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Hub cap on aluminum wheel, if removed.
2. Tire and wheel assembly.
^ Align locating mark of tire and wheel to hub assembly.
NOTICE: Always use the correct fastener in the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for the application. The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors) on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener tightening specification and the joint clamping force, and may damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you avoid damage to parts and systems.
CAUTION: Never use oil or grease on studs or nuts. Tighten the wheel nuts with your fingers until they are snug. Then, tighten the nuts (in the sequence shown) to the fastener tightening specification shown in "Specifications". Improperly tightened wheel nuts could eventually allow the wheel to come off while the vehicle is moving, possibly causing loss of control, personal injury and property damage.
3. Wheel nuts.
^ Tighten wheel nuts in sequence to 140 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
4. Wheel cover, if equipped.
5. Lower vehicle.
