Condition

Some owners may comment on a popping noise that may be heard with engine movement under normal conditions.

Cause

The torque strut mount attaching bolts may become loose and the joint begins to slip allowing the torque strut sleeve to chuck on the attaching bolts.

Correction

Inspect the torque strut mount for evidence of slipping around the front and rear attaching bolts and/or torque strut sleeves.

1. Loosen the front torque strut bolt.

2. Re-torque the bolt to 100 N.m (74 ft lb) + 90 °.

3. Repeat this procedure for the rear torque strut bolt.

4. Verify correction.
