Intermediate Shaft Assembly
INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY^ Tool Required:
- J 28467-A Engine Support
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Install J 28467-A.
2. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
3. Right tire and wheel assembly.
4. Install shop towels underneath the outer joint to protect from any sharp edges.
5. Stabilizer shaft from right control arm.
6. Right ball joint from knuckle.
7. Drive axle from intermediate shaft.
8. Intermediate drive shaft support bracket-to-engine bolts.
9. Carefully disengage intermediate axle shaft from transaxle and remove intermediate shaft assembly.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Intermediate shaft assembly into position.
2. Intermediate drive shaft support bracket-to-engine bolts.
Tighten
- Intermediate drive shaft support bolts to 66 Nm (48 lb ft).
3. Coat splines of intermediate shaft with chassis grease.
4. Drive axle to intermediate shaft.
5. Rear engine mount through bolt and tighten to specifications.
6. Right ball joint to knuckle.
7. Stabilizer shaft to right control arm.
8. Tire and wheel assembly.
9. Lower vehicle.
10. Remove J 28467-A.
11. Fill transaxle with proper fluid.
