Troubleshooting Hints - Steering Wheel Controls

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check Inline Fuse A and Inline Fuse B by visual inspection.
2. Check the RDO Fuse by observing operation of the Radio.
3. Check that ground G200 is clean and tight.
4. If switches on one side of Steering Wheel operate but the other side is inoperative, replace Steering Wheel Control Switches.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction hut prove GOOD in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded. and if possible. should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
