Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Installation

^ Tools Required
- J 36660 Torque Angle Meter





1. Install the lower intake manifold gaskets.





2. Coat the ends of the pushrods using prelube GM P/N 1052365 or the equivalent.
3. lnstall the push rods in their original location. The exhaust valve push rods measure 152.5 mm (6.0 inch) in length, (green).

IMPORTANT: The intake valve push rods measure 144 mm (6.75 inch) in length, (yellow).





4. Coat the rocker arm friction surfaces using prelube GM P/N 1052365 or the equivalent.
5. Install the valve rocker arms in their original positions.

IMPORTANT: Shims may be required under the valve rocker arm pedestals if reconditioning has been performed on the cylinder head or its components. Refer to Cylinder Head Clean and Inspect in Unit Repair.

6. Install the valve rocker arm bolts.
^ Use the J 36660 to tighten the valve rocker arm bolts to 14 Nm (124 in. lbs.)+30 degrees.
