Check Oil

The Check Oil Indicator is controlled by the Instrument Cluster as commanded by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) via serial data. The oil level is monitored by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with an Oil Level Switch. When the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) determines a low oil condition, it commands the indicator ON. As a bulb check procedure, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will command this indicator ON when the Instrument Cluster and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) are powered up (the Ignition Switch turned to the OFF/UNLOCK, RUN, or CRANK positions).
