The Tap-Down Position

Perform the following steps in order to "tap-down":
1. Turn the cruise off/on/resume/accel switch to the ON position. Set a cruise speed.
2. Quickly press the set/coast Button.
3. Quickly release, or "Tap" the button.
4. Do not hold the button in the depressed position or the system reverts to the coast mode.

"Tap-down" is a function in which cruise speed may be decreased by 0.62 km/h (1 mph) increments (one tap = 1 mph). The system can "tap-down" until it reaches the low speed lockout point of 40 km/h (25 mph), below which the cruise control does not operate.

Depress the accelerator at any time in order to override the cruise system. When the accelerator is released, the vehicle returns to the previously set cruise speed.
