Door Removal - Front

Removal Procedure

1. Open the front door.




2. Insert a small flat bladed tool between the door wire harness conduit (2) and the hinge pillar in order to depress and release the tab (3) on the door wiring harness connector.




3. Disconnect the door wiring harness from the body wiring harness.
4. Remove the door wire harness from the hinge pillar.




5. Remove the door check link fasteners from the body.




6. Remove the intermediate hinge fasteners (1) from both hinges.
7. Lift the door to remove.

Installation Procedure

1. Align the door hinge halves.
2. Lower the door so the hinge halves mate together.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Important: Use Loctite(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent prior to the fastener installation.

3. Install the intermediate door hinge fasteners.

Tighten the intermediate front door hinge fasteners (1) to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the door check link.
5. Touch up any paint damage to the intermediate hinge fasteners with body color paint.




6. Connect the door wire harness to the body wire harness.
7. Snap the wire harness connectors into the hinge pillar.
8. Check for proper door adjustment. Refer to Door Adjustment.
