Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Replacement

Tools Required

J 43300 Torque Rod Adjustment Bar

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the rear shelf trim panel carrier.
3. Use the J 43300 in order to remove the torque rods (1) from the hinge (2).




4. Remove the following components from the vehicle hinge:

* The nuts
* The bolts

5. Remove the hinge from the rear shelf.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the hinge (2) to the vehicle.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the following components to the hinge:

* The nuts
* The bolts

Tighten the nuts and bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).




3. Use the J 43300 in order to install the torque rods (1) to the hinge.
4. Install the rear shelf trim panel carrier.
5. Install the rear compartment lid.
6. Adjust the rear compartment lid as necessary.
