Throttle Body Service

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Remove the electrical connector (2) from the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (1).




3. Remove the air cleaner intake assembly.




4. Remove the snap ring (3) at the air inlet screen (2) on the throttle body (1).
5. Inspect the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate for deposits. It is necessary to open the throttle valve to inspect all of the surfaces.

NOTE: Do not use any solvent that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). This solvent may damage fuel system components.

6. Use a clean shop towel in order to clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate with Top Engine Cleaner, or an equivalent.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the snap ring (3) at the air inlet screen (2) on the throttle body (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




2. Install the air cleaner intake duct assembly.

Tighten
Tighten the air cleaner intake duct clamp to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




3. Install the electrical connector (2) to the IAT sensor (1).
