Accelerator Controls Cable Bracket Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.




3. Rotate the throttle lever.
4. Disconnect the cruise control cable (1) from the accelerator control bracket (2).




5. Disconnect the accelerator control cable (2) from the accelerator control bracket (1).




6. Remove the wiring harness clip (1) from accelerator control bracket (3).
7. Remove the transaxle shift cable from the accelerator control bracket.




8. Remove the 2 bolts from the accelerator controls bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE:
^ Do not route flexible components (hoses, wires, conduits, etc.) within 50 mm (2 in) of moving parts unless flexible components can be securely fastened. This is necessary in order to prevent possible interference and damage to the component.
^ Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the 2 brackets bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 16 N.m (12 lb in).




2. Install wiring harness clip (1) from accelerator controls bracket (3).




3. Install the accelerator control cable (2) to the accelerator control bracket (1).
4. Install the transaxle shift cable to the accelerator control bracket.




5. Install the cruise control cable (1) to the accelerator control bracket (2).

IMPORTANT: The throttle should operate freely, without binding, between the full-closed and the wide-open throttle positions.




6. Check the throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator controls pedal. Also check for the correct carpet fit under the accelerator controls pedal.
7. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
