Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (1).




3. Remove the CMP sensor bolt.
4. Remove the CMP sensor from the engine front cover.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the CMP sensor to the engine front cover.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the CMP sensor retaining bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (88 lb in).




3. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the CMP sensor (2).
