Condition
Some customers may comment on the following conditions:
^ Driving on rough roads, the front door trim panel or the lower speaker is loose/squeaks/rattles.
^ Driving on smooth roads, the front door trim panel or the lower speaker is loose/squeaks/rattles while the radio is playing.
Cause
This condition may be due to the uneven build up of the oversprayed adhesive (blue glue) on the surfaces of the door trim panel retainer support housings causing the retainers to be improperly seated.
Correction
Repair Procedure
1. Remove the front door trim panel assembly. Refer to the Doors sub-section of the Service Manual for the removal procedure.
2. Remove all nine of the door trim panel retainers.
3. Use a small brush and apply a smooth, even layer of lithium grease such as Loctite(TM) White Lithium Grease, P/N 30530, or Permatex(TM) White Lithium Grease, P/N WL-9, or equivalent, over the front surface of the door trim panel support housing (1).
4. Install the nine door trim panel retainers.
5. Install the front door trim panel assembly. Refer to the Doors sub-section of the Service Manual for the installation procedure.
