EGR Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector (5) from the EGR valve (1).
3. Remove the 2 EGR valve retaining nuts (4).
4. Remove the EGR valve (1) from the EGR valve adapter (3).
5. Remove the gasket (2) from the EGR valve adapter.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install a new gasket (2) on the EGR adapter (3).
2. Install the EGR valve (1) to the EGR valve adapter.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the 2 nuts (4) to the EGR valve.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Connect the electrical connector (5) to the EGR valve.
