Seals and Gaskets: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the propeller shaft.
2. Remove the case extension oil seal (1). Use a flat bladed tool to pry the seal (1) from the housing.


Installation Procedure

- J 21426 Extension Housing Seal Installer





1. Use the J 21426 and a soft face hammer, install the case extension oil seal (1).
2. Install the propeller shaft.
3. Check the transmission fluid level.
