Floor Shift Control Replacement
Removal Procedure1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the front floor console.
3. Remove the brake transmission shift interlock solenoid.
4. Remove the park neutral position switch.
5. Unsnap the range selector lever cable from the transmission control.
6. Remove the retainer and the cable grommet from the transmission control base.
7. Disconnect the park lock cable end from the park lock lever pin.
8. Remove the park lock cable from the transmission control base.
9. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) retainer from the electrical connector.
10. Disconnect the inflatable restraint Sensing And Diagnostic Module (SDM) electrical connector.
11. Remove the SDM bracket bolts.
12. Remove the SDM with bracket.
13. Remove the transmission control bolts.
14. Remove the transmission control.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the transmission control.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the transmission control bolts.
^ Tighten the transmission control bolts to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
3. Install the SDM with bracket.
4. Install the SDM bracket bolts.
^ Tighten the SDM bracket bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
5. Connect the SDM electrical connector.
6. Install the CPA retainer to the electrical connector.
7. Install the park lock cable to the transmission control base.
8. Snap the park lock cable end to the park lock lever pin.
9. Install the cable grommet and retainer to the transmission control base.
10. Install the transmission range select lever cable.
11. Install the park neutral position switch.
12. Install the brake transmission shift interlock solenoid.
13. Install the front floor console.
14. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
