Flexplate to Torque Converter Bolts

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.

Important: Mark the alignment of the flywheel and the torque converter in order to retain a proper balance.

2. Remove the torque converter cover.
3. Remove the flywheel to torque converter bolts.


Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Important: All flywheel to torque converter bolts should be hand started before tightening in order to ensure proper alignment, and in order to avoid cross-threading.





1. Install the flywheel to torque converter bolts. Hand start the bolts.
^ Tighten the torque converter bolts for the 3.8L to 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the torque converter bolts for the 5.7L to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the torque converter cover.
3. Lower the vehicle.
