Windshield Reveal Molding Squeak

1999-2001 Pontiac Firebird with T-Tops
Condition
Some customers may comment on a squeak coming from the top of the windshield.
Cause
The plastic windshield reveal molding may squeak when it comes in contact with the painted surface of the body along the entire top of the windshield.
Correction
Install anti-squeak tape to the underside of the windshield reveal molding using the following procedure:
1. Remove both removable tops.
2. Clean the reveal molding and the sheet metal with one of the following:
^ 3M(R) General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, P/N 08984
^ Dominion Sure Seal, Sure Solve Stock BSS
^ Kent Acrosol(TM)
3. Lay a clean shop towel over a plastic trim stick, apply cleaner and slide it under the reveal molding to clean that surface.
4. Slide two plastic trim sticks under the reveal molding 100 mm (4 in) apart as shown.
5. Insert a piece of squeak reduction tape 76 mm (3 in) long by 13 mm (1/2 in) wide under the reveal molding with the adhesive side toward the reveal molding.
6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 across the entire top of the windshield.
