Check Gauges Indicator

The check gauges indicator turns on in order to draw the driver's attention to the instrument cluster gauges. The check gauges indicator turns on under any of the following conditions:
^ The engine coolant temperature exceeds 107.2°C (225°F).
^ The engine oil pressure is low.
^ The generator malfunctions.
^ The vehicle fuel level falls below approximately 1/16 tank.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) sends a Class 2 message to turn on the check gauges indicator depending on the signals it receives from the following components:
^ The engine coolant temperature sensor
^ The generator
^ The fuel level sender

The instrument cluster turns on the check gauges indicator for approximately 3 seconds at bulb test.
