Rear Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the rear door window. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the 2 screws that retain the rear window channel.
4. Remove the rear window channel from the vehicle.
5. Disconnect the door lock electrical connector.
6. Disconnect the clip (1), and remove the outside handle rod (2).
7. Remove the following components from the rear side door lock:
* The inside handle rod
* The lock rod
8. Remove the door lock (2) from the rear door by removing the 4 screws.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the rear side door lock (2) to the rear door. Secure the lock with the 4 screws.
2. Install the following components to the door lock:
* The inside handle rod
* The lock rod
3. Install the outside handle rod (2) to the clip (1) of the outside handle.
4. Check the play of the push rod (2) by operating the outside door handle. If the push rod play is not within specification, repair or replace the inoperative part.
5. Adjust the push rod play to a range of 0.1-1.5 mm (0.004-0.06 in).
6. Confirm the following actions:
* The door does not open when the door is locked.
* The door opens when the door is unlocked.
7. Install the rear window channel. Secure the channel with the 2 screws.
8. Install the rear door window. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
