Control Assembly Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the center console trim bezel.
2. Remove the radio.
3. Grasp the knobs of the heater control unit lever firmly, and pull the knobs out.
4. Remove the screw and the right-side instrument panel cluster lower cover.
5. Gently pry off the heater face plate.
6. Remove the socket of the face plate illumination lamp.
7. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) switch.
8. Remove the following cables at the heater case and at the blower case:
^ The temperature control cable (6).
^ The mode control cable (2).
^ The fresh/recirc control cable (3).
9. Remove the 2 screws from the heater control unit.
10. Remove the blower switch electrical connector.
11. Remove the heater control unit from the instrument panel through the radio opening.
12. Remove the blower switch from the heater control unit (5), if needed.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the blower switch to the heater control unit (5), if needed.
2. Install the heater control unit (5) to the IP.
3. Install the blower motor electrical connector.
4. Install the heater control unit (5). Secure the unit with the 2 screws.
5. Install the following cables:
^ The temperature control cable (6).
^ The mode control cable (2).
^ The fresh/recirc control cable (3).
6. Install the A/C switch.
7. Install the illumination lamp socket to the heater face plate.
8. Install the lower cover of the instrument panel cluster. Secure the cover with the screw.
9. Install the knobs of the heater control unit lever.
10. Install the radio.
11. Install the center console trim bezel.
12. Adjust the temperature mode cable and the the fresh/recirc control cable. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Adjustment, Vent Control Cable Adjustment and to Mode Control Cable Adjustment
