Suction Hose Replacement
SUCTION HOSE REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
2. Remove the air cleaner from the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the compressor suction hose at the evaporator bulkhead fitting (1).
4. If the vehicle has a 1.3L engine, remove the nut, and disconnect the compressor suction hose from the block fitting (3).
5. Remove the bolt and the compressor suction hose from the compressor.
6. Remove the bolt and the compressor suction hose bracket from the vehicle.
7. Remove the compressor suction hose from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Lubricate new O-rings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Install the O-rings to the suction hose.
3. Install the compressor suction hose to the vehicle.
4. Install the compressor suction hose at the evaporator bulkhead fitting (1).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. If the vehicle has a 1.3L engine, connect the compressor suction hose to the block fitting (3). Secure the compressor suction hose with the nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 9.8 N.m (86.74 lb in).
6. Install the compressor suction hose to the compressor. Secure the compressor suction hose with the bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9.8 N.m (86.74 lb in).
7. Install the compressor suction hose bracket to the vehicle. Secure the bracket with the bolt.
8. Install the air cleaner to the vehicle.
9. Evacuate and recharge the Air Conditioning (A/C) system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
10. Operate the A/C system, and test the system for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing. Leak Testing
